Number Pieces is a tool designed to enhance students' grasp of place value and refine their computation skills with multi-digit numbers. It allows students to represent, regroup, and perform arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using number pieces.
FEATURES
- Add and manipulate pieces (ones, tens, and hundreds)
- Customize the initial set of pieces to a basic or advanced level
- Combine pieces in groups of ten or split them (e.g., 10 ones into 1 ten)
- Utilize the expanding edge piece as a measuring tool to display array dimensions
- Select from three different colors to differentiate groups or individual pieces
- Individually move, rotate, or duplicate pieces
- Annotate representations and demonstrate comprehension using drawing tools
- Incorporate equations, expressions, and descriptions with math text and writing tools
- Zoom in and out, as well as scroll to manage larger sets of pieces
- Conceal and unveil work using resizable covers to generate personalized problems and model strategies
- Share work by saving images or providing share codes to collaborators
